Sad Saturday Satire

Today started out in a satire sort of way. We had planned to go to the Bronx Zoo because Becky was able to bring guests with her for free. While we were getting ready, my Aunt Marla Jane realized she didn't have her sunglasses and we needed to stop by the car to get them before heading into the city. Well low and behold, while we were sleeping through the night, some "hoodlums"--I'm using this term because they are the only type of people who would do such a thing--(and yes I'm stereotyping them), smashed and shattered the passenger side window in. our first reaction, as we approached the car was the passenger side window in. our first reaction, as we approached the car was the passenger side window looked like it's been left open. The culprits left the Sirius radio sitting on the passenger's seat but took the docking station. Also my Aunt has an out of state handicapped license plates. If one steals from handicapped people, what is the world coming to or how low are these thieves willing to stoop?? My Aunt takes everythign well and just says, "What can we do now? Let's go to the zoo and figure this out when we get back." Both Becky and I had agreed that we would probably be a mess at this point. We got all what was valuable out of the car and returned it to the apartment and headed out off to the zoo. We rode the subway train all the way to the zoo.

The Bronx Zoo was really nice. Before getting to the zoo, we ahd to stand in a very hefty line because there was only one person taking tickets. The strange thing about thiswas we could see more than 7 other zoo employees just standing around. And it was a Saturday, and wouldn't one think to put more ticket takers at the entrance
on a busier day? Anyways, we went to a lot of the different sections. We went to the Congo, to see the monkeys. We also saw the giraffes, peacocks, lions, tigers, brown bears, polar bears, panthers, and of course the famous gorillas. After leaving the zoo, we went ot meet Becky's good friend Christine and her husband, Carl at a place called Revival. revivla is a very nice place because it has a bar on the lower level of the building, a lounge on the upper floor, and an outside deck for those patrons who enjoy a little fresh air...or for a nicotine fix, since smoking indoors is outlawed. We all had a few drinks, hung out, conversed, relaxed and had a good time. After exiting Revival, Christine showed us her office window and of course I documented it for eternity by taking a little snap shot. We arrived back at our apartment and dealt with the car, cleaning the glass out and covering the window with a clear Dillard's bag.
*Pictures to come.
