Cruising Central Park Paths

On Saturday, My aunt Marla Jane, Becky and I went out and about into the City, to explore a variety of different places; Little Italy, the Bodies exhibit, and the Metropolitan Museum. the weather was overcast and raining, so we decided to get some pizza at Serafina. our waiter must have forgotten about us because we had ordered our pizza and had been waiting for over 45 minutes. Even the people who had sat down after us by at least 10 minutes had already gotten their food. Well the pizza was mozzarella with prosciutto (thinly sliced meat). After spending a significant amount of time there we finished our meal and headed to the Met. Saturday evening was spent in the apartment. And we planned on what I'd wear for my outing on Sunday afternoon. We ended up picking an nice black skirt, a hot pink cami with a button up jacket. Then there was an issue with that shoes to wear. When I was packing for my trip, I had to minimize what I would be taking. And since I always over pack as most of you know, this was a bit of an issue. I only brought a total of 4 pairs of shoes (2 pairs of dress does & 2 pairs of tennis shoes) and 1 pair of sandals-that I never really wear when I'm home. therefore, I had to get some comfortable shoes for this little outing.

Sunday morning, we actually got up fairly early for a weekend, 9am and then headed to the Mall, for my shoe mission. I was very successful...two pairs. I of course had to match my toe nail color to my hot pink top because when one is in New york, they must always have their toe nails painted and their feet must also be soft (looking0couresy
of Becky's knowledge). After getting ready I went into the city for my outing. On the weekends in NYC, there's always construction on the various subway lines. I ended up taking two different subway lines to get to Columbus Circle, right near Central Park. My guide took me through the park and showed me numerous things that they knew about and so we walked through, around, and across different pathways and roads. It was quite evident that people were gearing up for the world cup games because there were several people playing soccer and sporting their preferred team. On this jaunt through the park, I saw; the Sheep Meadow, Bethesda Fountain, The Lake-where there were many people in row boats, part of Shakespeare's Garden, Belvedere Castle, The Great Lawn, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis reservoir, South Meadow, the Tennis Courts, North Meadow and all the way up to 106th Street. I pretty much experienced the entire park in under 4 hours. i learned that ever New yorker thinks-wishes-dreams about living on the Upper West Side next to the park. later I was taken to The Tavern on the Green for a very beautiful dinner. then I headed home on the subway back to Jersey City. After quite the hike through Central Park my feed needed a few more band-aids. All in all things didn't "click", but it was a nice time out touring Central Park and seeing the City.
