Lazy Long Laundry Day

Today was my first experience with doing laundry in a laundry mat. I've never actually gone to one and this was quite the neat experience. Becky and I got dropped off by Aunt Marla Jane (she was driving home). The washers are all lined up on the right side and then the dryers are all lined up on the the left side. There were more than the eye could see...well maybe a little bit exaggerated. But there were numerous machine everywhere. Since I haven't ever washed clothes in machines like these, I of course was equipped with my camera and took pictures of almost every step. Well since these washers are unlike the ones I've used at college because these were washers take about 45 minutes to wash. So while the clothes and sheets were washing we went to breakfast. Today was the earliest I've been up on a Sunday in a very, very long time. We were having breakfast before 8:30am. Anyway, we went to a fun little cafe/coffee shop place and I ordered an almond filled croissant and bacon, and Becky got a bagel-something sandwich. At this cafe, I ordered coffee and it was the largest cup of coffee I've ever seen in my life.

After breakfast we walked back to the laundromat and switched the laundry and were in search for a pet supply store. luckily, a man who just happened to be a veterinarian, was doing his laundry at the same laundromat. Anyway, he gave us the name of a pet supply store and we were off on a new adventure. Today
was the day for the Puerto Rico Parade and we could see the PR pride everywhere. Store after store had Puerto Rico parapahernalia every where. Peopel passing us on the street in their Puerto Rican flags of blue and red. We forgot about the time, and we found the store, but we had about 2 more hours until it opened. Darn for getting up early on a Sunday morning when businesses open later. AFter finishing the laundry we stared our walk back to the apartment. Becky with her white cart from Target filled with clean laundry and I just with my purse.

later today we decided to re-organize Becky's
closet because it was seriously a mess. We moved and cleaned and dusted and organized and even hung up some beautiful art work created by Becky. So after a few grueling hours of our mission, the closet was clean and fully functional. Well since we had company for the last week or so we decided to do the only thing that we could do for a Sunday evening...we went out for cocktails at one of Becky's regular spots. I've become fond of martinis. i had a green appletini, and then a Klondike...it actually tastes a lot like a mudslide but put into a martini glass. And had requested the bartender to add some whipped cream to it (she really wanted to see if he could operate the compressed cream can.) After our cocktails we went and headed home for the evening.
