Yo Mamma!

My day has finally come to an end...and I'm extremely happy about that. Yesterday at 7:20PM, I arrived at the Clark Street Subway station, dressed and ready to get shuttled to the set for MTV's Yo Mamma. The van was under the old marquee for the St. George Hotel sign, but was full with people. The man who booked me for this gig, Brian was actually waiting for the next van with me. I was stoked for this experience, since the closest MTV gets to me back home, is usually Chi-town or St. Louis. The next can arrived and we all piled in. I introduced myself to the people surrounding me in the van; Lenore from Philly, Sophia from Argentina, "No name guy" from Manhattan (who works for a design firm), and of course the people from the that booked mostly everyone for the show's audience. We weren't allowed to bring our cameras or take pictures of the set because of liability issues with copy right laws. When we arrived at the warehouse we had to go through security checks and baggage clearance...they were very professional. We sat around for two hours before they showed us the set and then we were assigned our sides for when they were going to start shooting the first show. A little after 10PM we started shooting the first show. They did multiple takes for each part of the show. After about 4 or 5 takes they brought in Wilmer Valderrama to talk to us (the crowd/audience). Sam Sarpong and Jason "J-Boogie" are the "friends" of Wilmer. They are all pretty cool guys. So now I've seen some celebrities in NYC. Shooting ending around 3:10AM and then they shuttled us back to the train station. I took the 2 back to Manhattan but forgot that I was on the 2 and got off at Chamber Street realizing that I should have gotten off at Park Place. I waited for the next train...which felt like a lifetime. The trains which run at night have the longest gaps of time. When I finally got to the Path train, it was 4:20AM. When I was getting off the Path Train in Jersey City, a guy on the train commented on my outfit...black skirt and gray lace cami...it was very Urban/club/street. I'm glad I got through this experience, but I know that I wouldn't want to do it full time. And now it's time for some long awaited shut eye.
