4th of July Fun

Since Rebecca got the 4th of July off, we decided to go out on Monday night. I decided to wear my fun summer dress and Rebecca dressed up too! We decided to expand my horizons by going out to Hoboken. And wiht our luck, Hoboken was pretty much dead besides a few bars right by the Hoboken train station. We had a couple cocktails on a roof top tiki hut bar, since we walked main street for about 5 or 7 blocks and then double backed and ended at the tiki hut bar. We decided to see if there was anything going on at the Iron Monkey and as we passed by we could see peopel on the roof top, and so we headed up the 3 flights of stairs. While we cruised around to where the bar was located we saw our friend, Ken sitting with some peopel. After getting our drinks we sad down with them and hung out. with more drinks, we chatted and then headed over to Ken's apartment building to go swimming with our new found acquaintances; Abe and Jeremy. I came to NY and this would have to be the "swimming with the models" experience. Rebecca compares it with "swimming with the dolphines" like in Miami, FL. We decided that swimming at 2am was a good idea, so Rebecca and I stopped by the apartment to get our swim suits and then we headed over. Long story short....we got back around 4:30am on Tuesday.

I slept until around 10am and decided I couldn't sleep any longer. After having breakfast at the Green Cow we walked around the neighborhood in search of snacks for our guests who would be arriving in the afternoon/evening. Since Italy and Germany were playing the semi-finals for the World Cup, Becky and I went out to Triumph to watch the game with fellow soccer fans. It was really crowded there and decided to head over to a different bar for some sitting room. The Light Horse didn't have their televisions up so we ended up sitting at Amelia's. We watched the whole game and then Becky's friends, Christine and Carl, from Brooklyn came and joined us for some cocktails. When we arrived back at the apartment we had more cocktails and while Christine & Becky were out getting errands, Carl and I played Mastermind. More guests arrived and we headed out to the peninsula for the fireworks. Carl & Christine left for home after the fireworks and Julia, Becky, Ryan, and I returned to our own homes.
