Ay!

I thought it was time for another entry. Life has been zipping by faster than I could have ever dreamed. People say that the older one gets, the faster life goes. When I was in high school, I thought this could never happen. However, during my years at college; from the first day of orientation to the morning of graduation, the time just slipped away. The momentum of my life just speeds on, like a locomotive running on an endless track.

My friend Kristen and I were talking tonight about how we're experiencing things in our lives which are similar, yet very different at the same time. My situation is where I'm dealing with someone who seems to be all talk and no action and then in her situation it's reversed-all action and not much talking. We were discussing how in different contexts each of these situations would be good and or bad. The main point of this example is that it's a lose/lose situation for both of us. If only there were a way to combine both situations and minus out the poor qualities.

The fact that most people I know, do more online-talking than face-to-face communication is a sad display that we're all becoming detached from the real world. Or rather, we're morphing into electronic-alter egos of our former selves. I'm probably one of the few people in my graduating class of 2007, who still prefer receiving a hand written card/letter than and e-mail, e-card or an instant message. I received two cards last week from friends who are known to be slow on the turn around, but it was great reading them both, because I knew that they took time out of their busy/hectic schedules to send me some USPS mail. I would say that I probably spend a decent amount of my salary on card sets, seals, ink, and stamps. Just a side note, all postage goes up by one cent on May 12th, 2008.

That's all she wrote for tonight.
