One's own character is always up for criticism and judgment by others.
There are times when I think I have a good judge of character and then there are other times when my judgments deceive me. I must give people the benefit of the doubt too freely and then I receive the dagger to the heart to find that they were wolves in sheep's clothing, waiting to pounce on their unsuspecting victim. Although, for most instances, I want to see the good which lies within people, rather than the black abyss which their souls feed upon to seek and destroy what was a healthy, happy person.
Recently, a friend, of a friend, of a friend, experienced this first hand experience and wishes that she could have acted differently or would have "played the game."
Hind sight is always 20-20.

It's those daggers that build our character and make us who we are!
